The Country Network To Debut Daniel Smith’s “Until I Close My Eyes For Good” Jan. 24

In anticipation of fast-approaching Valentine’s Day, The Country Network will debut on Jan. 24 the music video for Daniel Smith’s majestic love song, “Until I Close My Eyes For Good.” The video, which flawlessly conveys the song’s vow of undying devotion, will air on TCN’s “Breaking Out” segment.
“The world has gotten cynical about the idea of love lasting forever,” says Smith, who also wrote the song. “But it happens all around us. Just look at the obituary pages. The one beam of light you’ll see again and again is how long most of the marriages mentioned there endured. That always moves me.”

The commanding 6-foot-5 Smith has built a reputation for capturing the most intense emotional moment in his songs—as he did in such recent singles as the euphoric “Livin’ The Good Life” and the rowdy “Life, Liberty, & the Pursuit Of Happy Hour.”

“Until I Close My Eyes For Good” is on Smith’s current CD titled “The EP”

Singer Daniel Smith Promises Forever In “Until I Close My Eyes For Good”

From the Guy Behind “Livin’ The Good Life,” “Life, Liberty,
& the Pursuit of Happy Hour”

(Nashville, TN. 9/29/10) In 2008, Daniel Smith rocked America’s beaches with his irresistibly sunny “Livin’ The Good Life.” The next year, barflies everywhere raised their glasses to toast Smith’s personal declaration of independence, “Life, Liberty, & the Pursuit Of Happy Hour.”

Now the strapping, 6-foot-5 heartthrob has set a new standard for love songs with his tenderly passionate “Until I Close My Eyes For Good.” The single version of this Valentine-strength ballad will be released October 11 and can be found on Smith’s latest album, The EP, on DLS Records.

“The world has gotten cynical about the notion of love lasting forever,” says Smith, who also wrote the song. “But it happens all around us. Just look at the obituary pages. The one beam of light you’ll see is how long most of the marriages mentioned there endured. That always moves me.”

The single impacts radio on October 11.

Well here we are, getting close to the end of summer and we've had a lot of folks asking us what's been going on. Daniel took a brief hiatus away from music this summer, doing various projects around his house. He built a new deck, garden shed, new driveway, laid 2,500 square feet of sod and a lot of small projects.

"There's a lot of things I've been meaning to do around the house," said the 6'-5" singer,"and it was kind of nice taking a breather away from music, getting my hands dirty and banged up. I smashed my thumb a few times but that goes with the job. And sometimes you need to get away from your passion, clear your head and re-energize."

A new single will be heading to radio in early October, along with a cool contest. We'll have more details very soon!

As some of you may have heard, Nashville, Tennessee suffered an unimaginable flood last weekend. So many folks were displaced from their homes, lost all their belongings, and have been subjected to utter misery.

There hasn't been much national news coverage, but the people of Nashville have rallied in support of their neighbors and the assistance offered by strangers to those who have lost everything is nothing short of heartwarming. The price tag for the flood is expected to top $1 billion.

If you're interested in helping, please click the link below and give whatever you can.

God bless the people of Nashville.

Daniel Hummingbirds Through Country Radio Seminar

Daniel Smith was a virtual hummingbird during the recently concluded CRS - 41 in Nashville. By now a familiar face and voice to disc jockeys around the country, the tall, affable troubadour buzzed from one interview to another during the three days of the convention. EP REVIEW
By Matt Bjorke

-Daniel Smith is an independent artist but you wouldn’t know that from listening his recently released “The EP.” Collection. Featuring six tracks, The EP sounds as good as anything currently coming out of the label system in Nashville. With a solid banjo-backed melody, “The Memories Go On” rolls easily across the ears while Daniel is able to use his expressive voice to good use on radio single “Man Like Me,” which is –for my money – one of the best singles of the year. The EP also features the country rocker “Life, Liberty & The Pursuit of Happy Hour,” which melodically recalls hit 80s pop/rock songs. Everything on The EP is tastefully produced, well-written and performed. I can’t wait to hear a whole record from this artist.

Singer Daniel Smith Offers His Own Stimulus Package, “Life, Liberty & The Pursuit Of Happy Hour”

Song Also Signals Release of His New Album, The EP

NASHVILLE, TN ( JULY 20, 2009) American patriots around the world will thrill to the release of Daniel Smith’s stirring (or shaken) new single, “Life, Liberty & The Pursuit. Of Happy Hour.” This tribute to our nation’s most cherished values—especially the two-for-one principle—will begin spinning at radio stations July 27.

“These are the times that dry men’s soul,” Smith says solemnly. “Take away our happy hour and you’d have another revolution.”

Written by Smith and Charles Moore, “Life, Liberty & The Pursuit Of Happy Hour” is the lead single from Smith’s newest album, The EP, which has just been released on DLS Records.

Last summer, the strapping 6-foot-5 singer/songwriter inspired a rush of happy hour toasts with his lyrical celebration of sand and sun, “Livin’ The Good Life.” More recently he won over legions of new fans with his single and music video, “Man Like Me,” and his round of appearances at the CMA Music Festival.

7/8/2009
Next Tuesday, the EP will be available for purchase. It will include the new single, set to go to radio July 27, "Life, Liberty, & The Pursuit Of Happy Hour", “Man Like Me,” “Livin’ The Good Life,” “Things You Keep,” “The Memories Go On” and “Until I Close My Eyes For Good.”

A review of Daniel's performance by the CMA's Alyssa Smith [no relation]:

Daniel Smith Takes Acoustic Corner Visitors to the Islands and Back for Hot Wings

After meeting Daniel Smith at his booth in Greased Lightning Fan Fair Hall, Pam and Ray Lee along with their friend Alan Bradburn, all from Liverpool, England, took seats to see him play at the Durango Acoustic Corner.

Smith performed eight original songs, starting off with “What U See Is What U Get” and “Welcome to My Reality.” He took the audience to the islands with everything but the tropical drinks as he sang “Living the Good Life.” In “Ain’t No Place Like Home” he crooned of destinations he had traveled to, though his “heart lays in Tennessee.” Smith’s next song, “Thank You,” a tribute to all the servicemen and women, won a standing ovation.

Whether singing about gaining unintended weight and having cholesterol problems in “What’s Wrong with That” or relationships in “Right Side of Love,” Smith forged a connection with listeners who could relate easily to his narrative.

As Smith introduced his final song, “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happy Hour,” the audience laughed, cheered, and clapped at the playful nature of the title. He crooned about consuming hot wings and cold beer as “exercising our God-given constitutional right… to throw back a long neck.” Though listeners spilled in throughout Smith’s set, most settled down, enjoyed the air-conditioning, and remained for the set.

Upon exiting, Pam and Ray Lee raved that Daniel Smith sounded “just like the record” and were absolutely glad that they were able to see such a great musician in such an intimate setting.

Smith will appear daily at his own booth for photos and autographs in the Festival’s Fan Fair exhibition area at the Nashville Convention Center as well as a noon performance on Sunday, June 14 at the popular Acoustic Corner on the second floor of the NCC.

“It seems kind of artificial to hold back great songs until you get 10 or 12 of them for a regular album,” says Smith. “I’d rather serve them while they’re hot—and what better time to do that than at the CMA Music Festival?”

Daniel Smith Takes Music to Fans in 3-State Dance Club Tour

Marco Club Connection Coordinates Event for Rising Star

DLS Records artist Daniel Smith credits a recent three-state dance club tour with broadening his fan base and increasing his album sales. Coordinated by Bobbe Morhiser of Marco Club Connection in Nashville, the sweep took Smith to Coyote’s in Augusta, GA., Cotton Eye Joe’s in Knoxville, TN and Coyote’s Music & Dance Hall in Louisville, KY.

Smith made the circuit to introduce a bouncy new dance mix of his 2008 beach and bikini hit, “Livin’ The Good Life.”

“The club tour was immense fun,” says Smith, who has just released the new single and music video, “Man Like Me,” from his forthcoming album, Revolution. “It was fantastic to meet and make so many new friends. Hats off to Bobbe for making every stop a tremendously fun-filled event.”

Club personnel are equally delighted. Calling Smith “one of the best artists to pass through Coyote’s,” DJ Jeff Allen observes, “He made many new fans here in Augusta. He’s a soon-to-be true country music superstar—not just in music but also in his fans’ hearts.”

Jackie Hicks of Cotton Eye Joe’s agrees. “What a treat to have Daniel Smith here!” she says. “Club-goers love the opportunity to meet new country artists and say they knew them when. We look forward to having Daniel back soon.”

One thing’s for sure--Smith's fans will soon have him back on radio, the Internet and in person. “Man Like Me” has just been released to radio stations nationally and is being boosted for heavy airplay by Marco Promotions. CMT.com is adding the dramatic “Man Like Me” video to its playlist. And Smith will perform at various sites and appear daily at his own fan booth at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville, June 11-14.

“Man Like Me,” which was written by hitmakers Bobby Pinson, Kris Bergsnes and Charlie Moore and produced by Larry Sheridan, is shaping up to be one of the year’s most compelling musical statements about taking responsibility for one’s mistakes. Smith delivers the song—and the video images—with the sensitivity and intensity of a man who knows his subject well.

“If there’s such a thing as critical mass for an artist,” Smith muses, “I think I’ve reached it. All the elements are in place and in action. I can’t wait for fans to hear the music we’ve put together for Revolution. I’ve never been so proud of a project or so eager to take it on the road.”

Daniel Smith Examines the Wellsprings of Character In His Vivid New Single, “Man Like Me”

(Nashville, TN.) DLS Records artist Daniel Smith follows his breezy, last-summer hit, “Livin’ The Good Life,” with a thought-provoking new single called “Man Like Me.”

Set for a March 16 radio release, “Man Like Me” examines the hard-hitting events in one’s life—both mistakes and acts of contrition—that converge to shape one’s character. The single is from Smith’s album-in-progress, Revolution, which will debut in late spring.

Accompanying “Man Like Me” is a dramatic music video, directed by Flick Wiltshire of Vintage Flick and shot at locations in Kingston Springs and Nashville, TN.

“Man Like Me” was written by Charlie Moore, Bobby Pinson, Kris Bergsnes and produced by Larry Sheridan.

Daniel Smith Has Recipe for "Livin' The Good Life"
New Single Sure To Spawn Fans In The Sand

Looking for a great summer song to test drive your new beach blanket? Then bend an ear to Daniel Smith's sunny latest single , "Livin' The Good Life" that's being released to radio on May 19. It's a party in an i-Pod, complete with hot sand, pounding waves and Mai Tai's for everybody.

Co-written by Smith and Charles Moore, "Livin' The Good Life" is the lead offering from Smith's forthcoming Parlor Records album, Revolution.

The tall, handsome singer-songwriter first gained widespread attention in 2006 with his stirring "Thank You (Tribute To The American Soldier)." from his debut album, American Made. The song was later adopted as the theme music for the Thank You Foundation of Cincinnati, an organization that provides aid to veterans. In recent months, Smith and his band have performed the song and other fan favorites at military bases in Florida, Tennessee and North Carolina .

Now, let Daniel Smith refresh your memory about "where the breeze was cool and the love was hot."

Once again a fabulous time was had by all at Tyndall Air Force Base!
Our host, Capt. Jason Davis was simply an outstanding fellow and a prime example of hospitality and friendliness!  Thanks again, Jason.  Also, to Commander Roberson, we want to say a big thanks for having us back and congratulations on being in charge of a great bunch of folks.

It was nice to see Capt. Merideth Camilletti, Col. Dave Zeh, Mr. Dave, all the pilots, and everyone we met last time we were there.  Thanks for having us to your after party on Saturday night.  We had a rocking time!

Finally, to Aaron Tippin, thanks for "letting" Daniel win the beer chugging contest. Who're we kidding...Daniel whooped his butt!
But he was a good sport about it and a sweet guy!

Daniel's been invited back to Tyndall AFB in March for inclusion in their air show! Also, another Air Force Base, Seymour Johnson AFB in North Carolina, has extended an invitation for Daniel to perform mid-February for the 12,000 fine folks that work there. As with anytime they get to perform for America's Heros, Daniel and the boys are ceratinly looking forward to both shows!

Daniel's words about the trip to Tyndall Air Force Base:

WOW! That's all I can say about the trip to Tyndall Air Force Base. It was an honor and priveledge to visit the base and perform for them. The folks there were incredible and made everyone feel so at home! Their generosity and selflessness are second to none. and they're a testament to what Real American Heroes are all about.

We "flew" in an F-15 flight simulator, saw the jets up close and personal, watched them take off, witnessed an EOD (explosive ordinance disposal) demonstration , saw the Haz-Mat crew, performed for 1,000 folks during Wingman Day, and a ton of other things.

A big thanks to Brig. General Tod Wolters, Col. Dave Zeh, Capt. Meredith Camilletti, "CJ" and "Dragger" and Major "Mr. Dave" (retired), and everyone else who gave their time and made it unforgettable!

We've added a video retrospective showing you a little of what went on. You can find it on the VIDEO page.

All in all it was a great experience and hope we get to go back soon!

Thanks to webcast technology, Parlor Records artist Daniel Smith was able to beam his musical greetings live to thousands of American troops in Iraq and Kuwait. The transmission took place Saturday from the Heroes Celebration at Voice of America park in West Chester, Ohio. The patriotic event attracted a crowd of 15,000.

The day-long show, which also featured performances by .38 Special and a remote feed from Virginia by Rodney Atkins, was webcast to Camp Taji, Al Asad Air Base, Camp Fallujah, Camp Victory (in Baghdad) and Camp Taqaddum. A web linkup also enabled many of the soldiers to talk face-to-face with relatives attending the celebration.

Smith is best known for his recording of “Thank You (A Tribute To The American Soldier), “ which he wrote for his current album, American Made. The Thank You Foundation, a Cincinnati-based organization that supports American soldiers and veterans, has adopted the song as its official theme.

A native of northern Kentucky, the handsome 6-foot-5 Smith was the featured entertainer at the recent MidFirst Ohio Challenge in Middletown, Ohio. Last year, he headlined the Country For A Cause concert at the Madison Theater in Covington, Kentucky, to raise funds for The Point/ARC, a non-profit organization that funds job placement for intellectually and developmentally challenged individuals.

Everyone had a wonderful time at the 2007 MidFirst Ohio Challenge , which featured Daniel and the boys playing for some military folks and thanking them for their service.

The crowd of 9,000 people were treated to skydiving Team Fastrax , who parachuted in during "Thank You", carrying an American flag measuring 7,500 square feet! Emotions ran high during this part of the show and it was thrilling for everyone involved. A big thanks to John Guinn and The Thank You Foundation for letting us be part of it!

A Cincinnati-based foundation devoted to honoring America's active and veteran military personnel has chosen Daniel Smith's "Thank You (Tribute To The American Soldier)" as its official theme song.

"It's thrilling to know that my words might comfort and encourage those who have risked everything for our freedom," says the Parlor Records artist.

The Thank You Foundation was established in 2006 to conduct programs and events aimed at demonstrating public support for America's fighting forces, past and present. Founder John Guinn says he was drawn to Smith's tribute from the moment he heard it. "I immediately shared it with one of our board members," he recalls. The organization has since featured the song on its website: www.thethankyoufoundation.org.

In addition to spotlighting Smith's song, the foundation has asked the singer to serve as an honorary member of its board.

"Thank You (Tribute To The American Soldier)" appears on Smith's latest album, American Made. It was issued as a special single last November to commemorate Veterans' Day.

A native of northern Kentucky, the 6-foot-5 Smith made his initial breakthrough at radio with his inspirational "I'm Going Home" and a video to accompany it that is a favorite on GAC' and currently climbing the Music Row chart is the engaging declaration of emotional honesty, "What U See Is What U Get."
